Almost Done With Act 1. Twitter anyone?

I’m almost done with reworking Act 1. I’ve learned a lot about how I prepared for my “words on paper” draft and have discovered a lot of weaknesses. Well, basically, my prep work just sucked ass. Since I’ve learned from my…ahem…errors, next time around I shouldn’t have to do such a drastic rewrite .

I’m moving the introduction of the Howard character, Tom’s agent, to the end of Act 1. Since he plays an important part in the movie, even though his actual screen time is limited, I didn’t think it was fair to keep him until the end, both for myself of the audience. His introduction at the end of Act 2 is weak, and misplaced in my opinion. Howard’s only reason for even existing is to provide the audience a way to see how Tom’s career is going, and I needed a mechanism to deliver plot point 1 and plot point 2. By introducing him at the end of Act 1, it opens up something I might want to do with him around the mid-point, and at the end of Act 2. But more on that later.

I’ll post up the revised Act 1 after I finish it later this week.

In an unrelated note, I’ve had an account with Twitter for like AGES. I’m thinking about somehow working it into the site, but I’m not sure how yet. I see there are ways to add a widget, but that seems only possible if you host WordPress on your own servers, not if you use their services.

If you know of how I can put it on the page, let me know. I’d appreciate it.

I thought this clip from SNL was hilarious…don’t ask me why. Love that Ellen Page. VIVA DRACULA!

Enjoy.
