Can I Get A Witness

I finally saw the movie Witness last night. I needed to watch it for research, and I’m glad I did.

It was always one of those movies I’d been meaning to watch but never got around to. It was really good, and I can see why it won the Academy Award for best originall screenplay. It was rock solid. Tight. Nothing wasted.

Nothing really negative I can say about it other than the soundtrack, which I hated. Wikipedia says “The soundtrack was composed and performed by Maurice Jarre.” I don’t know why Maurice thought that sythesisers would fit with a movie that takes place in Amish country, but whatever…it was the 80s. Everything was all synthesisers at the time.

At any rate, if you haven’t see this I encourage you to check it out. I’m going to write a bit more about it in the future, as in my second viewing I’m going to break down some of the major beats and post up some thoughts about them.

Until then…
