On Screenwriting Contests

In this video I talk a little bit about my views on how valuable, or invaluable, screenwriting contests are.

The bottom line, unless it’s The Nicholl Fellowship, it’s not going to get anyone calling if you win. But if you’re knee deep in trying go break into the business, winning one of the bigger contests /might/ help some people listen to you… emphasis on might.

On the other hand, if you don’t live in LA (like me), if you’re entering just to compete and win prizes, then why the hell not?

Until next time, keep writing!
