Who Knew IMDB was British?

Ever wonder how IMDB.com got it’s start? Well wonder no longer. Colin Needham, a tech savvy chap in the UK, was a giant lover of movies and started a database that he shared with people once a month. In the mid 90s that database got a website. And the rest is history.

The Telegraph has the story.

I had no idea the defacto “go-to” movie site on the web came from the UK. And I didn’t even realize that it was owned by Amazon now. Neat stuff.
