Update: CyberSpace Open Winter 2011

Got this e-mail today from Creative Screenwriting:

“Due to demand, we decided to extend the deadline of our popular Cyberspace Open an extra few weeks to accommodate those who were not able to enter.

The new deadline is Sunday, February 13th!

If you already entered, but are now not able to participate due to the date changes, please contact our offices at 323-957-1405 to receive a refund.”

This is a bit different than the “circumstances outside of our control” e-mail I got about why they pushed the date back, but whatever. Not a huge deal.

I think it’s cool they’re offering refunds to people who can’t participate due to the date being pushed back. That’s a classy thing to do.

Anyway, if you’ve never done a contest like this before, I say give it a shot. It’s fun. It’s different. It’s cheap to enter. And it’s not like a “regular” screenwriting contest, so no one goes into it thinking this is going to land them an agent or anything. It’s just something to challenge yourself with over a weekend, and if you’re better than anyone else it can land you 2500 bucks.
