NO COUNTRY FOR OLD MEN – FILM CLIP: “CALL IT”

This is possibly my favorite movie scene of all time. It says to much about Chigurh without actually saying anything about him at all.

It’s no secret I’m a big fan of the Coen Brothers. I thought they adapted the book in amazing fashion.

I ordered “No Country For Old Men” on blu-ray a few days ago from Amazon. It arrived today. I’m watching it now. It looks absolutely fantastic.

  1. Agree.

That was one of the more… ‘quaintly’ gripping scenes I think I’ve seen in a movie perhaps ever.

Absolutely loved that movie — all of the little touches just made it for me: absolutely adored the lack of music and the attention to ambient sound and such.

    • Yup… when the Coen’s are on, they are ON. This was just a brilliant way to approach the movie. The STORE CLERK is what made the scene for me. You can just totally see how scared this man is and it’s taking everything possible in his person to keep his composure.

      • Right, again, totally agree. Especially how at first he’s just kinda ‘eh’ — but then realizes in that animal sense: uh oh, this guy who I thought was just wierd, is about on a hair’s breadth away from simly ending my life.

        Wonderful.
