On the Agenda for LA: Santa Monica Pier

Here’s one of the stops I’ll be hitting up when I head out to Los Angeles for a week in late July.

[Update: I wonder if Whitey Bulger was there? Evidently, he’s was a resident of Santa Monica.]

  1. End of July….. attending Comic Con perhaps….? 🙂

    The pier is fun.

Comic Con is 4 days of geekgasms.

    • You are correct. We’ve got professional passes for Thursday and Friday. Figure, we’ll get in early, beat most of the crowds. I know there won’t be any cool panels or anything, but we’ve got other things I wanted to do in LA on Saturday and Sunday. I’m looking forward to it.

      • Is this the first time you’ve attended?

Unfortunately, it’s never possible to beat the crowds. It’s packed
        all the time;(

I’ve got pro passes for the weekend and we’re staying at the Omni.
At least we have a close room where we can go to escape the madness! 🙂

I’m looking forward to your report!

        • Yeah, it’s the first time I’ve attended. But my friend I’m visiting goes every year, at least for a day or so.

I know what you mean about the crowds. I was talking more from a relative perspective. Friday and Saturday are supposed to be the worst from what I’ve read. We’re heading back to LA Friday afternoon.

I’m not sure where we’re staying. But I think it’s within walking distance.

I’m really looking forward to it, should be a lot of fun!

  2. Okay, now you’re getting me excited to get out there. You have to give us a report when you get back.

    Writewritewritewritewritewritewrite. Repeat.

    • I think you’ll be out there the same week I am Dan, July 20th – 25th. Santa Monica is pretty cool. The boardwalk is nice for an hour or so, and the market area nearby is a trip. I want to get to Venice this time as well, since I wasn’t able to the last time I visited. I’m a big fan of the show Californication, which takes place there. I also want to eat at Randy’s Donuts, which I was only able to drive by last time.
