Entering a scene – With John August

I’m lazy tonight, so I’m going to share the last “screencast” I can find from John August. In this video he goes over how to more effectively enter a scene.

I think most of us probably write along the same lines as the sample John takes a look at in this video.

It’s not “bad,” per say, but it would certainly be better. And as usual, John shows us a few ways to improve it.

It critical stuff like what John brings up that that sometimes you can’t teach yourself. You need to hear it from someone else. Have them instruct you on how to look at your writing from a different, more critical perspective.

I hope someday that John does more of these.
