I Feel Tense

Do they matter?

Bet your ass they do, especially in screenwriting.

Most (though not all) screen writing is done in the present tense. It’s the difference between:

John is running toward a car.

John runs toward a car.

So why bring this up now? Because John August posted about it today, dummy.

In his post he talks a bit about the different tenses used for prose fiction and screenwriting.

It’s a short ready, but builds on this post, and this post.

Check out all three if you can.

Keep writing,
